Author

Unlike the Publisher user type, the Author user type does not have the ability to edit content created by other users. However, it can create, edit, publish, and delete its own articles or pages.

In the WordPress ecosystem, an archive page is created for authors. The author page address will, by default, be www.mon-site.com/author/nom-dutilisateur and usually displays their full name, avatar, and blog posts. Additional information such as a biography or other relevant details may also be included, depending on the site.

You can find the name of an author associated with their publication in the WordPress dashboard, specifically in the Pages or Articles menu, under the Author column.

Note

It should be noted that the username found in the Author column is not necessarily linked to an “Author” user. As soon as a page or article is created by a user (Administrator, Editor, Author, or Contributor), it is their username that will be found in this column. This means that an Administrator, a Publisher, and a Contributor can be the author of a publication, while an “author” only has the role of an Author.
