Subscriber

The subscriber is the type of user with the fewest rights on a WordPress site. They can edit their profile and view all the articles, just like any user who is not logged in. As a result, the desire to create subscriber accounts is less common.

A context where creating a subscriber-type account can be relevant is when you want to hide an article or page from non-connected users. In this case, the subscriber will have the opportunity to see private content that an unlogged user could not access. However, it’s important to note that this feature is not available by default in WordPress.

To enable user registration on your WordPress site, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Settings menu and select General.
  • Look for the option “Everyone can register” and check the corresponding box next to the word “Registration.”
  • By enabling this setting, you will allow your users to create an account on your WordPress site.
