Cookie

A cookie is a series of pieces of information stored in a visitor’s browser, which allows a website to identify certain information about them. Writing or reading the content of a cookie is restricted to the site that created it. It is not possible to exchange data contained in a cookie from one site to another.

A cookie is typically used to store specific preferences, such as the language chosen by the user for the site. Additionally, cookies can enable the recognition of a user who is logged into their account on a particular website, allowing for the display of their information.

In advertising, cookies are used to gather information about visitors’ online behavior and create profiles to display content that is better suited to their interests.

A cookie cannot transmit viruses, but it can be used to track your online actions.

However, you should be aware that a cookie may contain information that can identify a visitor. If this information is maliciously retrieved by a third party, the cookie could be used to obtain the visitor’s identity or private information. This is known as cookie theft.
