Admin bar

The WordPress admin bar, also known as the admin toolbar, is a navigation bar at the top of the screen that provides quick access to some of WordPress’s most frequently used features.

When you’re logged into your WordPress site, the admin bar appears at the top of every page, whether you’re in the dashboard (back-end) or viewing the site itself (front-end). This makes it easy to switch between editing mode and viewing mode, and vice versa.

The admin bar contains several items, including:

  1. The WordPress logo: When you click on this logo, it will open a drop-down menu with links to official WordPress resources, including documentation and support forums.
  2. Site Name: By clicking on your site name, you can quickly access the home page of your site from the dashboard. If you hover your mouse cursor over the site name, a submenu will appear with links to the dashboard and theme customization settings.
  3. Updates: If there are any updates available for WordPress, your themes, or plugins, a notification will appear here. By clicking on this icon, you will be taken to the updates page.
  4. Comments: This section provides you with quick access to the comment management page, where you can approve, reply to, mark as spam, or delete comments on your blog posts.
  5. New: By hovering the mouse cursor over this option, a submenu appears, allowing you to quickly create new blog posts, pages, users, or media.
  6. Username: The upper-right corner of the admin bar displays the name of the currently logged-in user. By clicking on it, you can access your user profile or log out.

Please note that the elements available in the admin bar may vary depending on the user’s permissions and the plugins installed on your site.

In short, the WordPress admin bar is a convenient tool that enables quick access to the key functions of your site, making content and site management more efficient.
